Maintenance and washing of scarves

We usually recommend ladies to use dry cleaning, or hand wash. Hand wash high-end cashmere products should adopt the following methods:

1. Cashmere products are made of a precious cashmere raw material. Because cashmere is light, soft, warm, and slippery, it is best to wash it by hand separately at home (not mixed with other clothes). Cashmere products of different colors should not be washed together to avoid staining.

2. Measure and record the size of cashmere products before washing. Cashmere products stained with coffee, juice, blood, etc. should be sent to a special washing and dyeing shop for washing.

3. Soak the cashmere in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes before washing it (the jacquard or multi-color cashmere products should not be soaked). Squeeze gently with both hands in the water while soaking. The purpose of soaking and squeezing is to remove the dirt attached to the cashmere from the fiber and enter the water. The dirt will wet and loosen. After soaking, gently squeeze the water out of your hands, and then put it in a neutral detergent at about 35°C. While soaking, gently squeeze and wash with your hands. Do not wash with hot soapy water, scrubbing, or washing with alkaline detergent. Otherwise, felting and deformation will occur. When washing cashmere products at home, you can wash with shampoo. Because cashmere fibers are protein fibers, they are particularly afraid of alkaline detergents. Shampoos are mostly "gentle" neutral detergents.

4. The washed cashmere products need to be "over-acid" (that is, the washed cashmere products are soaked in a solution containing an appropriate amount of glacial acetic acid) in order to neutralize the soap and lye remaining in the cashmere, improve the luster of the fabric, and affect the wool fiber Play a protective role. In the "overacid" procedure, if glacial acetic acid is not available, edible white vinegar can be used instead. But after the acid is over, clean water is needed.

5. After rinsing with clean water at about 30℃, you can put the supporting softener in the amount according to the instructions, and the hand feel will be better.

6. Squeeze out the water in the cashmere product after washing, put i into the net bag and dehydrate it in the dehydration drum of the washing machine.

7. Spread the dehydrated cashmere sweater on a table covered with towels. Then use a ruler to measure to the original size. Organize it into a prototype by hand and dry it in the shade, avoid hanging and exposing it to the sun.

8. After drying in the shade, it can be ironed by steam ironing at medium temperature (about 140℃). The distance between the iron and the cashmere products is 0.5~1 cm. Do not press on it. If you use other irons, you must put a wet towel on it.

Other reminders

If the cashmere products break yarn, lose needles, or loose threads, you should stop wearing them immediately and make repairs to prevent the needle loops from loosening and leaking needles from becoming larger. All-wool and high-proportion wool products cannot be washed with washing machines and tumble dryers for drying. Because wool will be felted after washing, the needle loop will shrink, become hard, and be severely deformed.
Wash cashmere scarves after they are worn or before they are stored. The purpose is to reduce borers. You need to open the closet or suitcase cover frequently, keep the cashmere products ventilated, and keep the scarf dry. Try to avoid rubbing with objects with rough surfaces. Pay attention to some parts that have more chances of friction, such as sleeves and tabletops, sofa armrests, inner pockets and wallets. Avoid long-term backpacking, and avoid long-term wearing rough coats without interlining. Minimize such contact. The main ingredient of wool is protein, and it also contains a small amount of fat. It is the most favorite food for borers. In the yellow mold season, it is easy to absorb water and be invaded by mold, which can cause mold.
